Derion is a kind, trustworthy youth with a bit of a shy side. He likes horseback riding, caring for animals, writing, taking pictures with his digital camera, swimming and listening to his iPod. A talented craftsman, Derion enjoys building bluebird houses that his group home sells. His favorite food is McDonald’s chicken sandwich and french fries. In 6th grade special education classes, he progresses steadily and hopes to be a vet tech in the future. Derion enjoys being homeschooled and hopes this will continue in his placement. He is open to all families and wouldn’t mind moving out of Florida if the opportunity arose; he’s never seen snow and wouldn’t mind living on a farm or ranch. Derion wants interested families to know he’s neat and keeps a clean room, he’d like the opportunity to earn an allowance, and doesn’t mind other children in the home. He is a positive young man who would benefit from a loving family who can advocate on his behalf.
